
Bursaries
Each year, we offer 8 bursaries:
The E. Carl Jamieson Bursary - Mr. Jamieson was a manager of the former Capital Credit Union for 44 years. This $1,000 bursary is offered in honour of his commitment and long standing service.
The Ralph V. Burtt Bursary - In honour of Mr. Burtt who was a witness to the original charter of the former Capital Credit Union and has also been a member/director for more than 60 years. This is a $1,000 bursary.
The Starr Morin Memorial Bursary - Four $500 bursaries are offered in memory of Starr Morin, a dedicated manager of the former Carleton Pioneer Credit Union for more than 20 years.
Progressive Credit Union Limited Bursaries - Two additional bursaries, valued at $500 each, are given on behalf of the credit union.
Requirements
If you are an individual who plans to attend a post-secondary educational institution (whether new or returning student), the following criteria must be met:
- You must have lived in New Brunswick for at least one year prior to application
- You must be a member of Progressive Credit Union Limited or a dependant of a member with whom you reside
- You must plan to attend an accredited educational institution within Canada
Requirements for the application in addition to the completed application form are as follows:
- If you have just graduated from high school, an official high school transcript (Grades 10 through 12 - if you have not yet graduated, please provide Grades 10 and 11)
- If you are currently at a post-secondary level, an official transcript of the last year attended in addition to your high school transcript
- A minimum of two letters of recommendation (non-family)
- A 200 word summary of what you feel differentiates Credit Unions from other types of Financial Institutions
- A completed family information form (attached to the application above)
